On Sunday, October 27th from 2 PM until 5 PM, we'll be meeting at the Dunwoody North Driving Club for an unusual and exceptional meeting.
Eddie Carter has been writing jazz reviews for many years. He wrote for a previous audio club here in Atlanta at a time when those reviews were published on a monthly club paper. Times have changed since then... but Eddie has not! He is still writing superb reviews of jazz releases both old and new.
For this meeting, Eddie will share a part of his life with us including what started him of his lifelong path of love for jazz and what jazz has meant in his life. Along the way, he'll share some of the music he loves best and help us to understand jazz a bit better. I know there are a number of members, past members, and just friends of this club who know and love their jazz. Here's your chance to gain an understanding of why jazz has meant so much to another person and share the music he loves!
We can use the club owned turntable, the Denon DP-1000 TT with Magnepan Unitrac 1 Tonearm, Herbie's Way Excellent II TT Mat and Grado Reference Master Catridge, TSE KT-88 Integrated Tube Amp and our own very special 2 ways. We do need the loan of a great Phono Preamp.
However, if you wish to provide some equipment of your own to be used in this system that you think will serve us better, but all means let us know!!
There will be more about this meeting as time goes on and more plans are firmed up so keep watching this event for updates!
10/17/2019 UPDATE:
Equipment for the playback of Eddie's vinyl will include but may not be limited to:
- EAT "C" Sharp turntable with $12,000 Grado Epoch cartridge
- EAR 912 Balanced Preamp with integrated phono preamp
- UIT Balanced interconnects
- Latest Audioquest Hurricane power cords.
- Red Dragon Audio S500 Class D power amp
- Club designed and built 2 way stand mounted speakers

Last Minute Update -- We'll be featuring a set of stand mounted 2 ways built by member Bob Drake instead of the club's two ways. These were heard to very good effect several years ago at one of our "local builder" meetings. (That's where we feature local builders and their designs in a meeting.)
