Paul's program description
Dive into three iconic LP's that were released a few months apart. Pet Sounds in May, Blonde on Blonde in June, and Revolver in August.
All three released at the peak of their popularity. Strangely, Pet and Blonde received tepid sales initially. Only Revolver got typical sales numbers. The back story to their creation took months of work beginning in fall of 1965 and is a fascinating read for us nerdy types.
Here are some teasers for the presentation.
80 days that shook the world. Come see and here how 3 LP's released between May 16th, June 20 th, and August 5th, 1966 changed popular music forever. What was a disposable commodity, transformed into works of art.

What the heck is a theramin?
How a drunken party during a 3 am recording session in Nashville become legendary and birthed the song "Rainy Day Women #12 and #35." A song of Biblical proportions.
Who is Al Kooper and how did he become Dylan's "cassette recorder?"
Why The Beatles' "Rubber Soul" so moved Brian Wilson to quit touring and take over the studio and create his masterpiece, "Pet Sounds."
What's in a name; "Blonde on Blonde" and why is the cover photograph blurry?
The birth of concept albums came from "Pet Sounds," "Blonde on Blonde," and "Revolver."
Thanks,
If someone in the club has a vinyl copy of Blonde on Blonde and could bring to the meeting it would be helpful and appreciated.
We will be meeting in our usual Room 104 at Oak Grove UMC.
