Interesting Stuff I Found

Want to Start Making Digital Copies?

I have a parks puffin like yours and I love it. I would be willing to lend it out for someone to try.

For the money, it's certainly worth a try. Of course, you'll need a phono stage and the right cables or adapters, which Monoprice also sells, conveniently enough. :)

Along the same lines, I'm using a Parks Audio Puffin phono stage. The model I purchased has the optional TOSLINK S/PDIF digital output, which is convenient for making needle drops, among other things. I've only bothered to record a handful of LPs that I own that are not currently available via streaming. Happy with the results, but the Puffin is about 20 times as expensive as what John has suggested. Depending on your use case, it may be worth it, though, which is why I mention it.

Hoping all is well. Cheers.

For those of you who would just love to turn your analog tapes or vinyl into digital files but were unwilling to spend a lot of money to do it, here's a viable option. This ADC is very similar to the product I have been using for my needle drops. BUT, this one is about a fifth of what I paid! I have been doing needle drops on some of my select vinyl that have been very well be received by friends and acquaintances. This is by far the least expensive ADC I have seen. You may have to buy a couple of inexpensive 1/4 inch Phone jack to RCA adapters for analog input, but they are available for very little money. Remember that this is a professional audio design and there may be a need more for another adapter to make it work. You will also need the appropriate software to control the recording process. I use Audacity and it works quite well!
