Hi David:
Thanks for sharing. I will follow your suggestion and try Straightwire's Analysis.
I use Straightwire Info-Link AES/EBU digital interconnect, their Encore II sub speaker wire, and Chorus AG sub interconnect for a JL Audio's JLink transmitter, and am particularly happy with their performance to price ratio.
I also used their $60 Link USB cable to great satisfaction. I switched to AudioQuests Diamond USB (retail $600) because I got a very good deal on it. The Diamond however is only very modestly better than the Straightwire, no where near its 10X more price.
Unfortunately I can't find any third party reviews of anything but Stratightwire's mid to upper end cables. Are you aware of any?

Hi Dana,
Good to hear from you. Yes...as you are aware, Straight Wire has been around for a long time, but they apparently have not been promoting their brand very much. From what I understand, they have mostly been working behind the scenes as a manufacturer for other brands. As a result, it's surprisingly difficult to find press or reviews about Straight Wire branded products.
They don't have pricing information on their website, but if you give Jerry a call (800-683-4434), he can give you all of the information you'll need over the phone and/or via email. He is extremely low pressure and seems to really just want to help folks find the best fit for their system. I don't have a complete price list, but I imagine that most folks could expect to spend something on the order of $1k to $2k for a complete set of cables, depending counts, types, and lengths. For some, this might sound like a lot, but Jerry won't suggest expensive cables if you don't need them, so the price may be lower. If you have a complex system with lots of components and want new cables for everything, the price will be higher, but Jerry can help you optimize by focusing on areas where the biggest gains will be found.
In my case, Jerry seemed to go out of his way to not pressure me into buying anything, which was rather refreshing. Please let me know how your system assessment goes. Cheers!

David,
Thank you for this article!
Were you able to get a price on these cables? I looked through their speaker cables, power cords, and interconnects but nothing was listed. I was expecting to see something similar to what Blue Jeans uses, in that they tell you the price per foot for each model. Then you use a calculator to enter the length and speaker cable ends and then get a price.
